Writers Conference Jitters

Take a deep breath, say a prayer, and enjoy the experience.

Next week at the writers conference, I’ll encounter a lot of people facing multiple appointments and intensive classes. Many will be fearful, anxious, overwhelmed, and defensive. And those are just the agents and editors.

What happens when you assemble a hundred or more introverts? It’s tempting to duck into our shell. Or to yield to the temptation to try to prove ourselves with our knowledge and writing skill. Or to turn defensive.

This year, I hope to attend just as I am.

I want to learn, enjoy, and trust. I hope you’ll join me.
