New Skills Goldmine

Serious about learning? Take a class.

My wife just asked if I’d want to take a class in Adobe InDesign. She was browsing a community college’s fall catalogue of community education classes. Four two-hour sessions, she said, would cost just $89.

While I thought I knew about the community college, I never realized it offered training in practical skills.

Like these classes in Entrepreneurship:

  • Digital Marketing for Small Businesses
  • Social Media for Small Businesses
  • Turn Your Hobby Into a Small Business

And these classes in Small Business Marketing:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Blogging
  • Building a WordPress Website
  • SEO: Website Search Engine Optimization

Considering what I hear from authors, agents, and editors, learning these skills are well worth the tuition.

Already know these? There are also classes on basement finishing, robotics, and raising backyard chickens.

What writer-friendly sessions does your community offer?
