It Starts with an Idea

Now what will you do with it?

This past week, news came of the death of a novelist whose name appeared on numerous dozens of books. For decades, each debuted on the best-seller list.

But that’s not how he started. The opportunity arose when his wife took a job that had her work the late shift. Once, he’d put his children to bed, what would he do for the rest of the evening?

He sat as his typewriter and decided to pursue his dream to write a paperback adventure novel. Rather than watch TV, he began to commit his imagination and ideas to paper.

Getting published wasn’t easy. The first novel published wasn’t the first he’d written. But he persevered, pounding away at his keyboard each evening developing and recording his ideas.

That’s how books get written. What’s your big idea?
