Crunch Time

What do you do when everything’s due?

My calendar showed the coming weeks would be busy. The magazine’s next issue is due on the twelfth.

Then another project landed in my lap. Then another.

Somehow I’d have to get everything done.

Time to panic? No.

First, time to pray: for wisdom, for clarity, for freedom from distractions.

Next, time to trust: that the ideas will appear, then that the work will all come together.

Finally, it’s time to work hard. I need to resist pursuing those items not due until later. I need to say no to distractions. Less TV, less Facebook, longer days, and seizing stray moments until each deadline’s been met.

I promised I’ll deliver. That’s what I’ll do.
