You can make one any day.
The turn of the calendar offers a good opportunity to begin things anew. But I appreciate that we aren’t restricted in when we can turn over a new leaf.
Sometimes changes are forced upon us. This fall, my page layout program stopped working with my computer’s classic operating system.
I had no choice, so I made the best of an unexpected change. In short order I acquired a new primary and backup computer — and learned an unfamiliar operating system.
To my surprise, I quickly adapted. A month later, I’ve come to appreciate the new machines’ superior speed.
Spurred by that success, I opted to splurge on a four-color laser printer. For years I’ve made due with one that prints only black. But I work daily with full-color layouts. The change didn’t come cheap, but it held the potential to increase my efficiency.
Just because I’ve always done it one way doesn’t mean I’m locked out of making improvements — whatever the month.
