Bestselling pros offer great advice.
Some offers are too good to be true. But some only seem that way. Like this one I found Monday.
For novelists uncertain how to shape their story came free guidance from an author of nearly 200 books, 21 of them New York Times bestsellers, with sales of 71 million copies.
While Jerry B. Jenkins offers paid writing instruction, he also knows the value of casting his bread upon the waters. In this case, ways for prospective novelists to keep from getting lost by first mapping their story.
But wait. There’s more. Jenkins also cites four points by novelist Dean Koontz that, Jenkins says, “changed my career and catapulted me from a mid-list genre novelist to a bestselling author.”
After those four points for those who use a seat-of-the-pants writing style, Jenkins presents “How to Outline a Novel in 6 Steps” following the method of someone he calls “the Sheldon Cooper of Novelists.”
I’m not sure how long Jerry may keep this free advice posted. If you’re a novelist — or have thought about writing a novel — you’ll be hard pressed to find better advice. And at least for now, it’s free. Just click on this link.
Then remember, after you’ve had several novels publish, to help others by passing along what you’ve learned.
